Nigeria’s Falconets ended their Group C campaign at the ongoing FIFA U-20 women’s World Cup in Costa Rica with a 3-1 again Canada on Thursday.
The game which was played 3am Nigerian time on Thursday, saw the young Nigerians win their third and final group game.
Two spot kicks from Esther Onyenezide and one late goal from substitute, Chioma Olise, ensured the Falconets got the maximum nine points from their three matches.

With the win against Canada, the Falconets will now face Group D runners-up, Netherlands in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
Meanwhile, France defeated South Korea 1-0 in the other group C match to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The Falconets ended the group phase with nine points, France was second with six points, South Korea third with three points and Canada bottom with no point.
