Usen: Catholic Priest Escapes Kidnappers With Gunshot Injuries

Barely 24 hours after Police authorities in Edo state have confirmed the kidnapped of two catholic priests on Saturday night around Ehor and Iruekpen communities along the Benin-Auchi Expressway, vigilante group in usen have foiled another kidnap attempt of a catholic priest, Rev. Father Liuggi of the Saint Peter and Paul catholic church Usen.

According to report, the gunmen open fire on the clergyman around Ogunwinyin village on his way back to Usen community but rapid response from the vigilante group in the area forced the kidnappers to abandon the victim and ran into the bush.   

The catholic priest sustained gunshot injures and has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while more security operatives have been deplored to the area for manhunt in arresting the kidnappers
